A Conversation with Paolo Barrale On The Occasion of SIAL Toronto.

Hello Chef,

on the occasion of the SIAL trade show in Toronto, scheduled from April 30 to May 2, how is buononaturale preparing to face the challenges of the North American market?

Paolo: “First of all, our promotional efforts never stop; we constantly find ways of communicating to our customers the value added of our products.”

How can certified products for Canada and the United States satisfy local retail customers?

Paolo: “In the case of North America, with our line of ready-to-cook risottos and other instant cereals, we guarantee the end customer a unique tasting experience that combines speed, taste, and Italian tradition. Our current consumers appreciate tremendously the convenience of using these products.”

Can you talk about buononaturale’s food service catalog?

Paolo: “At the moment the catalog is aimed for professionals, to whom we constantly strive to ensure the highest quality, comprises delicious creams and dried fruit pestos, typical of southern Italy and in particular of my land, Sicily; in addition, we have a line of truffle products, typical of the Campania region.”

Will you be present at the SIAL?

Paolo: “No, this time I will not be present because I am working on organizing a series of cooking shows for the upcoming TUTTOFOOD exhibition in Milan, where we will be present in a substantial way. This does not mean that we value the SIAL any less, but the latter is simply a whole other type of event in which we will focus more on the product itself rather than on the exhibition. Of course, the rest of the staff will be at the SIAL Toronto, and I know that they already have an agenda full of appointments with various local players. I am sure they will do a great job as always.”

Are there any new entries in the catalog scheduled for 2019?

Paolo: “I don’t want to go too far, but 2019 will be an important year for buononaturale; we are working to deliver new pearls to our customers. I will not add anything else because things must be communicated at the right time… but I can ensure you that good things are to come.”
